Timely Community Support, When We Needed It Most

At Best Match Recruitment, community support is our key focus. We are always working hard to stay updated with the latest trends in the job market, local economy and business in the Gippsland and South East Melbourne regions, to and we are continuously evolving and improving upon our recruitment processes and the service for which we are known.

While we didn’t want to use this shiny new space to write about COVID-19, or the doom and gloom that seems to be accompanying most published pieces on the internet, we did want to take this opportunity to highlight, and thank, the Baw Baw Shire Council for their timely local business recovery response.

One of our goals and strategic plans for 2020 was to design a user-friendly and inclusive website to better connect us to new and existing clients and jobseekers, and provide a wealth of resources to help all parties involved in the recruitment cycle. Yes, we are here to help you find your next top talent, or guide you through a career transition, but we have also built our business on helping and giving back to the community we are grateful to be a part of, and we very much want to continue in that vein.

When COVID-19 hit Australia, the recruitment industry, like many others, suffered. The uncertainty surrounding the economy, lockdown and restriction timelines, and sustainability and security of jobs and organisations, had everyone pulling the emergency brake on hiring new staff. As a result, we thought our plan to create an updated online presence would have to be put on hold until business re-stabilised.

In our time of need, we applied to be considered for the Baw Baw Shire COVID-19 Business Support grant, and we were grateful to be named a successful recipient, allowing us to continue our plan to share informative, educational, and current news in the recruitment space, while also serving new and existing clients and jobseekers.

We are very grateful for the team at Baw Baw Shire Council, and as a local business invested in supporting other local businesses, we were excited for the opportunity to move our online operations from metro Melbourne to the very capable and innovative team at GippsTech in Warragul.

Despite the rollercoaster that has been 2020 thus far, we used the slow times to improve our policies, best practice procedures, and the advice we provide to our clients and jobseekers. So watch this space for regular tips and tricks to ensure your business remains informed and in its best position to thrive as we move into 2021.
